Cyber Essentials Scheme
IT Services has renewed the University's Cyber Essentials compliance. The current certification lasts until February 2020, and will be assessed/renewed on an annual basis.

Biggest ever map of human Alzheimer’s brain published
A study of the differences between healthy brains and those with Alzheimer’s Disease has produced largest dataset of its type ever. And, thanks to Phil Bradbury, Research Software Engineer (RSE) in Research IT, the dataset is now freely available online for any scientist to use.

Focus on Digital Health and Digital Humanities
Many University of Manchester researchers were users of N8 HPC and the computational resource, Polaris. Polaris was switched off at the end of July and N8 HPC has now been relaunched as N8 Centre of Excellence for Computationally Intensive Research (N8 CIR).
