Stata is a statistical software providing wide ranging functionality from linear and logistic regression to time-series and panel-data analyses, survival models, causal inference, Bayesian analysis, and machine learning. It also allows you to generate graphics and export them in most common used formats.
The Faculty of Biology, Medicine and Health (FBMH) is now providing a license for the latest version 19.5 (multicore MP4) to students and staff. Stata 19.5 is deployed to student clusters located in FBMH but users of Windows managed machines can also install it via the Software Centre (desktop computers) or Company Portal (laptops). If you require Stata on a self-managed Windows, Mac, or Linux please speak to your School about a license code and installer.
Stata 19.5 is also available on iCSF, our interactive HPC system. you can send in a request to be added to the user group if you wish to use it on this resource.
Please note that this license does not cover anyone outside of FBMH.
Other Faculties
The Faculty of Humanities also provides an up-to-date Stata license but only single core. If you are from that Faculty and need access you can apply for access.
The Faculty of Science and Engineering (FSE) does not provide any central available licenses for Stata. The University holds a limited number of licenses for an old version of Stata 14 which is only available on managed machines.
Please see the software applications catalogue for further information.
