Service description
The Interactive Computation Shared Facility is also known as the iCSF, aka Incline.
- No batch system
- Run GUI applications in a similar manner to on your desktop
- Popular applications: MATLAB, R, Stata, Python
- More cores and memory than most desktops
- Good for development work and testing
- Primarily for research staff and PhD students

Charging Model
Researchers are encouraged to contribute to these systems rather than purchase their own smaller HPC clusters. It is often possible to get more out than you have put in! There are some ‘free at the point of use’ resources available.
