Mathcad Prime License 2023

The University has renewed its Mathcad Prime license for another year.  Find out how this affects you.

The University has renewed its Mathcad Prime license for another year but, due to continued low usage, only 10 network licenses have been renewed.

This also means that Mathcad Prime will not be available on university cluster machines in the next academic year (23/24). As far as we are aware Mathcad Prime is no longer being used in teaching anymore but if this is not the case please get in touch.  Mathcad Prime 8 is still packaged and available via the Software Centre and the installer is available on the Electronic Software Delivery service (ESD) if you are on campus.

If you would like to move to the new version, Mathcad Prime version 9 was released in March and the installer is now available on ESD (again you must be on campus). Please check the Mathcad website for specific improvements and enhancements available in the new release.

There is no guarantee that the university will renew its Mathcad Prime license next year again. If you are looking for an alternative, the Research IT Application Support team can advise you or come to one of our Drop-in sessions for a chat about your requirements.
