New Head of Research IT Announced

Back in June we announced some changes in Research IT management. We are now pleased to announce that, following the recent open competition, Robert Haines has been appointed as Head of Research IT.

Angus Hearmon will focus on Programme Director for the Research Lifecycle and IT business partner for Research while Robert will also be IT Business partner for the Faculty of Science and Engineering (FSE).

Robert is a graduate of The University of Manchester and has been both a researcher and a member of IT services in his time since graduation. Robert has recently been heavily involved in setting up the professional body for Research Software Engineering – the UK Research Software Engineer Association. Robert will be retaining his part time lecturer role in Computer Science.
