Cloud Procurement - Easier and Cheaper!

As part of the Research Lifecycle Programme (RLP) we are looking at procurement processes alongside HPC provision. We know that many researchers at the University are already using Cloud provision and that many more would like to do so. However at the moment there is no official process in place to procure or access Cloud resources.

This Project within the RLP will:

identify needs of UoM researchers for Cloud-based resources
determine opportunities for Research IT Cloud-based/hybrid platforms
reduce the cost of Cloud resources to UoM researchers by aggregating procurement
identify and provide financial and security controls

Therefore we are currently seeking researchers who:

Are currently using AWS, Azure, Google Cloud or another Cloud provider
Would you like their cycles to be cheaper and costs easier to manage
Aren’t currently using Cloud but are thinking of doing so
May not be aware of the security-related risks in using infrastructure provided by third parties
