Join us for a joint interactive session with the CaDiR C++ User Group, the Green Compute for Research @UoM group and co-organised with the University AI Environmental Sustainability Working Group.
We will explore the environmental and practical dimensions of research software development in the age of AI. We'll look at trade-offs in ML-based data compression, carbon-aware job scheduling on digital research infrastructures, planned training material on green computing, and the use of local LLMs for coding. We will also discuss emerging loose guidelines in several research fields on AI-assisted software development.
