R User Group Returns

The popular R user group at the University of Manchester (R.U.M) has recently been relaunched with a new online home - “The R User Group channel “ on Microsoft Teams. It's led by Kamilla Kopec-Harding from our Research Software Engineering team.

The R user group at the University of Manchester (R.U.M) is a special interest group for staff and PG students that exists to bring together R users of all levels to share R best practices, expertise and knowledge for the benefit of all.

The activities and meetings of the R.U.M have been on pause due to the COVID-19 pandemic, but will restart in March 2023 under the stewardship of Research IT who currently deliver R training in the form of “Data Analysis with R” course. We hope that the group will be of benefit to all our R Users at the University.

While we work on the relaunch of R.U.M., we have created a new online space on Microsoft Teams - “The R User Group channel“ - to bring together R Users to:

  • improve their knowledge of R
  • share expertise
  • find technical advice

“The R User Group channel “ can be found under the Computation and Data in Research (CaDiR) umbrella in Microsoft Teams. Please click this link to join CaDiR if you are not already a member.

By joining the CaDiR space, you will also gain access to a number of other special interest groups including the Data Science Club and GPU club. Once onboard, you can then choose which channels you wish to receive notifications for.

We look forward to seeing you on the R User Group Channel!
