Angus will take on the new role of Research IT Programme Director. He will lead the University’s Research IT provision overall and continue to have responsibility for the delivery of the Research Lifecycle Programme (RLP). Angus will also continue his Business Partner role for Research.
The Head of Research IT role is a strategic one, with a key focus on developing and evolving the Research IT portfolio in alignment with the needs of researchers. It was felt that there should be no break in this role. Therefore a temporary Head of Research IT has been recruited to through an internal acting-up arrangement – and we’re pleased to announce that the interim Head of Research IT is Robert Haines.
Robert has worked in the field of Research IT for around nineteen years, his most recent roles being Head of Research Software Engineering and Honorary Lecturer in the University’s School of Computer Science. Robert will also be the Strategic Business Partner for the Faculty of Science and Engineering, which is a vital role in ensuring the alignment between Faculty needs and IT Service. This interim arrangement will initially be for twelve weeks until the formal recruitment process has completed.
