Research IT is Coming to You!

From November, Research IT will be holding Drop-in sessions in different locations around campus. There is no booking required, just drop by to have a chat about any research-related IT problems you may have.

We can give advice about applications and their licenses, when to use HPC (high-performance computing) or HTC (high-throughput computing) capabilities and how to request access to them, as well as all aspects of data visualization and analytics.

Maybe you are interested in one of our training courses? Our Research Software Engineers (RSEs) can look at your programs and scripts to find performance bottlenecks.

If we can't solve your problem during the session, we will take it way and work with you during the following days to find a solution.

In November and December you can find us in the following locations:

  • 1st November : Bridgeford Street Building, Foyer, 14:00 - 15:00
  • 16th November: Alan Turing Building, Lounge, 14:00 - 15:00
  • 29th November: George Begg Building, Foyer, 14:00 - 15:00
  • 14th December: Michael Smith Building, Cafe 14:00 - 15:00
