Wolfram Quantum Tour – Where quantum theory becomes quantum execution

We are hosting an in-person research seminar and hands-on session on the Wolfram Quantum Framework, led by Dr Mads Bahrami, Head of Quantum Research at Wolfram.

19 Nov 2026 14:30 — 16:00

Rm 3.3 Roscoe Building, University of Manchester

The University of Manchester will host an in-person research seminar and hands-on session on the Wolfram Quantum Framework, led by Dr Mads Bahrami, Head of Quantum Research at Wolfram.

Dr Bahrami will use live calculations and practical examples to show how the framework is applied in quantum research.

The session will cover:

  • Exact symbolic calculations, including Trotter errors, open-system dynamics and Wigner functions
  • Circuit simulation and stabiliser codes, including error correction under realistic noise
  • Running circuits on quantum hardware directly from a notebook
  • Modelling superconducting qubits, including pulse design, readout and state tomography

After the talk there will be an optional "bring your own code" session from 4-5pm, supported by the Research IT training team. This is an opportunity to work on your own projects, connect with peers across the University, or try out some of the things demonstrated in the talk.

The framework is freely available at institutions with a Wolfram site licence [wolfram.com].
