Andrew will provide an overview of the need for openness, reproducibility, and transparency in research, linking with UK government and funder policy initiatives around research transparency, the advocacy work of the UK Reproducibility Network, as well as highlighting local resources and infrastructure available to colleagues across the University to support the adoption of open and reproducible research practices.
Charlotte Woolley, Research Fellow, Centre for Epidemiology Versus Arthritis, University of Manchester
Charlotte will give a brief, live introduction and tutorial of the UK Biobank's "Research Analysis Platform" (the RAP) from a researcher's perspective. She will give an overview of what it is like to use the RAP, some of the tools available and a demonstration of working with data an R studio environment. She will talk about some common pitfalls and how to overcome them and some of the benefits of the RAP. There will be some time to ask questions after the demo.
